Has it Really Been That Long?

Looking back, it seems I have failed miserable in keeping a blog! Well, that's about to change!

Even though January has passed, my New Year's Resolution will be to keep up with keeping a blog!

Now, I know my fellow readers, you are thinking, yeah right. It's been a year!! Well, it's time to stop procastinating and do!

Currently, I am working on the Longoria Wedding Video. Shot at Chantilly Country in beautiful Montgomery, it was the perfect setting for a wonderful evening!

I also did a Bluebonnet photo shoot while the weather was still gorgeous! Did you miss your Bluebonnet photo shoot? No worries, there are still plenty of places around town to take amazing photos of you and your family!

Remember, we also do videography as well as photography!! Call us with your needs! 936-203-3188

What are you doing with your wedding dress?

Wendi Ryan of About Face and I are promoting the newest trend in photography coolness... You may have heard about it- TRASH THE DRESS..ROCK THE FROCK... Its time to take out that old wedding dress you know your daughter will never wear and no one will ever want and rock it one more time in an artistic piece either in the elements, in the water, doused with paint, splashed with fondue-whatever you can dream we can do! Divorced? Even better! What a great way to rock a pair of scissors and mud or black paint! Of course, the glam hair and face!

If you are interested, drop me a line at my email nbrown@wishnikphotography to set up an appointment. Wendi is a fantastic makeup artist with years of experience. Like her page here http://www.facebook.com/pages/About-FACE/142321425821294 .

Day 38/365 Holes

Did you ever wonder what your life would be like if you had gone down another path? I don't really think about that. I've always said that my choices in life have made me who I am. It's fun and exciting to go down paths you've never been. Sometimes the outcome may not be what you want, but you always learn something along the way. Each of our paths is like a hole in the fabric of life. Sometimes the lessons are hard, but who ever said life was easy?

Day 22/365 Is it Winter or Spring?

Well, it seems we are under a severe cold snap and it's just expected to get worse. But, it looks like the trees don't seem to care. Some of them anyway! Although this morning was extremely cold and the ice in our horse's water trough was frozen, the birds were singing merrily through the trees. In return, many of the trees were giving them green leaves to fly and play in as they whistled and scurried about.

Day 21/365 It's the Real Thing!

Well, it's just toooo cold to go outside and well, we drink a whole lotta these. My daughter calls them the healthy Cokes cause they're made with sugar and none of the other crud! At least they taste like they used to!

Playing around with Photoshop, but really didn't get what I wanted. I think my hands are too cold to do anything well right now!

Day 20/365 Fiber Optics

I've been staring at this fiber optic light for a really long time and decided to finally take some photos of it. I used my macro lens on my Tamron 75-300 and had a go. I put it under some lucite to see what would happen. I think I like the effects.

Day 18/365 One, Two, Three, Four

What started 28 years ago as a joke is now a part of my life. When the clock changed to 12:34, my very good friend turned to me and said, "Hey look! It's one, two, three, four! How cool is that. Now, every time we see that we'll think of this and think of each other!"

Since then, I always think of my friend when the clock turns to 12:34. I've continued those fond memories by passing this tradition on to my daughter and other friends. It's always fun to all of a sudden, look at the clock and say, "It's one, two, three, four" and giggle at our own private joke!

I now pass this tradition on to you!

Combined Day 14 and Day 15/365

Well, yesterday was a big day! The end of the year and now we have the beginning of a new one. So my day 14 and day 15 photos were taken at the end of 2009 and the very beginning of 2010!

My Day 14 is just a self portrait. One of the few times that I will actually be in front of the camera. A good way to end the year. In front of a fire and in front of my camera.

Then to begin the year with a bang and sparks!! Day 15 is the beginning of the New Year and looking forward to what each day will bring as we start a new decade, a new journey, a new adventure.....a NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year!

A Day Late! Day 11/365

I took this yesterday in the late afternoon. I didn't have my filters with me, but what I saw through my sunglasses and naked eye was very different. So, I took my sunglasses and put them over the lens of my camera and took the shot!

How Many Photographers? Day 9/365

The day after Christmas. Too much eggnog? Perhaps not enough! My question to you, how many photographers do you see?

Windy Day Day 8/365

We had big gusts of wind last night up to 40mpgh. Imagine our surprise when we went out into our back pasture to find our old Mulberry tree completely blown down. But, it was such a beautiful day that I took out my fisheye lens to take this shot of the downed tree and our back pasture.
